Rescue Dogs
At Dog Whisper we occasionally come across a dog that is in dire need of assistance.
We recently rescued Jess a white Staffordshire Bull Terrier Cross.
Jess Didnt have a good start in her first two years of life and was beaten and chained up outside.
The problem is that Jess is totally deaf, she cannot hear at all which made it difficult for her previous owner to communicate with her.
Jess got herself into trouble with the council for barking due to the fact she was chained up outside and the owner was going to have Jess put to sleep.
Mayflower Sanctuary kindly agreed to house Jess in a kennel for us to give her time to calm down and to allow us to look at her behaviour.
Jess has now been in rescue since September in that time we have not had one single compaint about her behaviour.
Jess is energetic and loves companionship although she still drops to the floor with her eyes shut tightly, expecting to be beaten, if you raise your hand too sharply.
We now need your help, we have to find a home or at least a foster home for Jess as she has been in kennels for a while. We would prefer someone that has experience with a deaf dog or at least is willing to learn.
Another option would be a rescue centre with experience of deaf dogs
